InterClub Play Without the Pressure!
A Purely Social Croquet Opportunity for Vero Beach
Vero InterClub Croquet (VIC)—formerly known as the Vero InterClub League (VIL) offers players from area clubs the opportunity to travel, play, and connect in a relaxed setting—bringing together a broader group of players who share a love of the game and enjoy getting out, playing, and spending time together.
Objective
VIC is designed to foster camaraderie, encourage social play, and support ongoing skill development among players across the Vero Beach clubs, while providing a welcoming, purely social, and inclusive interclub experience.
These matches are for players who love croquet but either aren’t looking for — or don’t yet qualify for — the intensity of the TCL competitions. The focus is on practicing, improving, enjoying different lawns, and making new friends — all in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. It’s a great way to grow the game and simply have fun.
League Structure
All clubs will provide equipment, parking, restrooms, and water. Additional refreshments are optional.
Administration
Each club will appoint a captain to manage scheduling, rules, communications, and rosters.
Match Format
· Doubles Golf Croquet
· Two games to 7 points or 2 hours (whichever comes first, or as teams agree)
· Scores may be kept for fun, but they will not be recorded or used to determine a season champion.
· The schedule ensures each team plays every other team twice — once home, once away.
· Matches will be played on Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30. If that doesn’t work for a given week, captains can coordinate to find another day and time that works for both teams.
· Each weekly match can consist of a maximum of 16 players. Ideally, eight players from each club will participate, but to remain flexible, any combination of players from both teams is acceptable.
· Weather or emergency cancellations may be rescheduled or dropped.
· The host club will organize the games by setting pairings and may mix players between teams.
· Club professionals are encouraged to assist with play and rules when available.
Player Eligibility
Vero InterClub Croquet (VIC) is designed as a social league with no restrictions on who may participate — all players are welcome, regardless of skill level.
